We provide access and education. Texas School for the Deaf knows that early exposure to meaningful language and communication is the single most significant variable for achievement and success for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
We strive to bring that to all children in Texas. We do this by focusing on
1. 0-3 Program – focus critical efforts targeting infants 0-3 years old, providing language and communication exposure starting at birth.
2. Statewide Outreach Program – advance the school’s Outreach programs to students in all areas, proven to be a lifeline to deaf and hard-of-hearing children who may be in isolated or unsupported environments.
3. Technology – provide an essential component to the education of our visual learners.
4. Career Technology and Education – reinforce programs that offer real life working skills for all students.
5. Teachers – support teachers through Mini-Grants and programs designated by the administration.
Your support helps deaf and hard of hearing children across Texas gain access to language and development tools that been subjected to budget cuts at the state level. Listen to TSD staff and students in their words.
