The Foundation’s mini-grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning. Teachers, administrators and staff are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to projects which support the objectives, goals and initiatives of the Texas School for the Deaf School Improvement Plan.

Were you awarded a TSDF MINI-GRANT in 2016-17? If so, once your project is completed, please fill out before September 19, 2017 and submit your form here.

TSD Teachers and Staff

The TSD Foundation Board wishes you a very happy and successful school year. The Board exists to support you and the work of the school here in Austin and across the state. To that end, we have tried to simplify the mini-grant process for this coming year and to reach out to others for support as well by putting abstracts of your projects and needs on the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation website for adoption. This information seeks to summarize the inner-workings of the mini-grant awards.

Projects designed to begin after 11/1/17, completed by 08/1/18, and that meet the application and selection criteria will be considered. Grants may fund instructional and classroom materials and equipment and/or activities which support teaching and learning.

Proposals must be received by the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation Office by Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. If your project is funded, an evaluation report is due within two weeks of completion of this project in order for an application to be submitted for next year.

Applicants may submit more than one request. Project review and acceptance will be the responsibility of the TSD Foundation Board and decisions will be based upon a rubric corresponding to the application. The rubric may be viewed with the application online. Applicants will be notified of decisions by Monday, November 6, 2017.
